About Karolina
I grew up in Poland. My first degree was in psychology from the Silesian University. I then followed my interest in meditation and Buddhism to India. During that time I also worked at a school for children with learning difficulties. I had a wish to integrate my interest in contemplative, meditative practice with psychological work. In 2001 I moved to England where I found Core Process Psychotherapy and studied at the Karuna Institute in Devon.
Psychotherapy has supported me through different situations in my life and I wish to offer that support to people with whom I work now. I continue to practice mindfulness and I am nourished by yoga, which supports me in staying connected to my body and to myself.
Professional Experience
I have been in private practice as a psychotherapist since 2007, having completed the full professional training in Core Process Psychotherapy at the Karuna Institute.
I have been offering psychotherapy at Cedar Counselling and Psychotherapy Centre in Birmingham.
I worked previously offering psychological support for young people with learning difficulties aswell as in a community setting with children and young adults with special needs.
I also worked individually as an equine therapist with children on the autistic spectrum.
Relevant Professional Qualifications/Associations
I am member of BACP (The British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy).
I am fully accredited member of UKCP (UK Council of Psychotherapy).
I attend regular professional supervision and partake in continual professional development courses to ensure that my practice is well supported. I hold professional indemnity insurance and abide by both the Karuna Institute and UKCP Code of Ethics.
